Fire officials say leftover construction debris caused a fire near the middle of the University of Nevada, Reno campus on Monday.
The fire started at Scrugham Engineering and Mines building around 2:45 p.m., off of Evans Avenue.Â
A black plume of smoke could be seen across much of the valley.Â
Fire officials say no injuries were reported since no students were seen on campus.Â
Some roads within the UNR campus are closed and will be until about 4 p.m.
The cause is under official investigation.Â
