Crews contain wind-driven wildfire in Prison Hill area of Carson City

Fire crews have contained a wind-driven wildfire in the Prison Hill area of Carson City.

The Prison Hill Fire started off of Gentry Lane around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday and burned through 7.5 acres.

The Carson City Fire Chief says Gentry Lane is closed and only accessible to residents of that street. There are no evacuation requirements at this time.

Aside from the Gentry Lane closure, the 5^th St. Trail, N. Prison Hill Trail, and all trails at Silver Saddle Ranch are closed as emergency responders work to extinguish the fire.

Several local agencies responded to the fire: Carson City Fire Department, Carson City Public Works, and Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

Regional partners that responded include East Fork Fire, Tahoe Douglas Fire, Truckee Fire, Reno Fire, North Lake Tahoe Fire, BLM, Forest Service, and Central Lyon Fire.
