Sparks Museum fire department exhibit

The Sparks Heritage Museum will unveil a new permanent exhibit celebrating the Sparks Fire Department in a free event Tuesday, June 30 at noon.

The exhibit will feature photographs, equipment, and artifacts from the museum collections, and items loaned or donated by the Sparks Fire Department, its current and past firefighters, and their families.

In a press release, the Sparks Heritage Museum said, "The Sparks Fire Department has a history as long as the city itself, and we are proud to include the story of the Sparks Fire Department in the permanent gallery at the Sparks Heritage Museum."

Tuesday June 30th is also the day the city says goodbye to Fire Chief Walt White who has served a 40-year career as a firefighter.

Admission is free, but donations are accepted.

The Heritage Museum is located at 814 Victorian Ave in Sparks.
