A family has been displaced, and several vehicles and RVs have been destroyed in a wildfire burning in the Topaz Ranch Estates area in Douglas County.
The fire broke out at a home on Friday evening before spreading to wildland and forced NV Energy to shut off power in the area, according to a spokesperson.
NV Energy has since restored power and is continuing to work to assess power infrastructure in the area.
The fire threatened homes, and damaged the one where it started, forcing the displacement of a family.
That prompted notices for people to prepare to potentially evacuate. Those notices have since been rescinded.
The fire grew to an estimated 10 to 20 acres. Fire crews will be working through the night to keep it under control.
Firefighters say the fire was wind-driven, and that people should stay alert when Red Flag Warnings are in effect, like they are on Friday.
Traffic controls are in place around the fire, and people should use caution when driving around fire personnel.
Air support has been helping to fight the fire, and many agencies at the state, county, and city level have responded.
