The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District has announced that pile burning is taking place this week.
Galena Creek Regional Park will see pile burning happening starting Tuesday,—weather permitting—and going through Friday, March 14.
The Nevada Division of Forestry, who is handling the burning, say it will begin in the morning at around 9:00 a.m. and be done at 5:00 p.m. each day.
People in the area can expect to see smoke, which may drift into the surrounding areas.
The fire crews will remain at the burn sites overnight each day, as a precaution.
The pile burning will be in effect from Tuesday through Friday.
