Firefighters from multiple agencies quickly handled a brush fire in Sparks on Friday evening.

It broke out in the hills to the west of the roundabout at the intersection of El Rancho Drive and Sullivan Lane just after 7 p.m., according to a spokesperson for the Sparks Fire Department.

The fire burned 2.22 acres before forward progress was stopped at 7:37 p.m.

There were no injuries reported from the fire, and no buildings were damaged.

Firefighters responded from the Sparks Fire Department, Reno Fire Department, and Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue.

The fire is out, and there will be no units on scene overnight.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Roads from El Rancho Drive and Sun Valley Boulevard to Sullivan Lane were closed for a time but have since reopened.
