Elko County residents might see smoke near Knoll Mountain as a fire burns across the state line in southern Idaho.Â
The Summit Fire is located 11 miles southeast of Oakley.
The Forest Service says crews are using air tankers and a Type 1 helicopter to fight the fire.
It started around 2 p.m. Monday and has grown to about 550 acres close to the northeastern border on Nevada.
Cassia County deputies say the Independence Lakes Trailhead was evacuated as a precaution.Â
There's no immediate word on how the fire started.Â
