On Friday night the Galena Grizzlies traveled to take on the Reed Raiders at home, as we welcome the second week of league play for Northern Nevada High School football.

The story of this matchup lies in the statistics, with Reed averaging almost 12 points in the first quarter this season, while Galena has been scoreless in the first.

Both fanbases, student sections and teams were at the game and brought their intense energy. Some students from both schools touched on this exciting matchup.

"You know, it's homecoming game. We're really big rivals. We want to win this game. And it means a lot to us that we get this win," said Reed High School student Hayden.

"I think it's a good matchup. I think Galena is going to come out on top only because I'm a supporter. But it's going to be an interesting, entertaining game. It might go back and forth a little, maybe ups and downs. Just have to play it out," said Robert of Galena High School.

"Seeding wise, we want to be here. We want to be here at home. You gotta win all these games. Got to win next week. Got to win all these games," said Alex from Reed High School.

Reed got their first league win of the year to propel them to a 4-2 record. They defeated Galena 50-13, who will fall to 3-3.Â
