A long-time Atlantis Casino guest has won the biggest slot machine jackpot in Reno history.

The casino says the guest, who has not been identified turned a $10 bet into a Megabucks Jackpot of $14,005,832.09 Sunday night.

The Reno woman had not planned to be at the Atlantis Sunday, but due to a cruise cancelation, she extended her stay at the AAA Four Diamond resort. The change in plans led to a life-changing, whirlwind moment for the city’s newest multimillionaire.

“We’re ecstatic for our longtime Atlantis patron and her incredible jackpot win,” said Cheraz Ecker, general manager of Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. “This is another amazing milestone to celebrate in our company’s history and it’s verifiable proof that our award-winning property in northern Nevada truly is every player’s paradise.”

Megabucks, the world’s first wide area progressive jackpot system created by IGT, has been awarding jackpots to lucky winners since 1986. Sunday’s win at the Atlantis is the first Megabucks jackpot to hit in Nevada since April 2021.

“IGT is thrilled that Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nevada could experience the property-wide excitement of a colossal, $14 million-plus Megabucks jackpot on its gaming floor,” said Toni Martinez, IGT Vice President, Western Region & Mexico Sales. “With a $10 million top progressive jackpot reset value, no slot jackpot in the U.S. rivals the size or thrill of IGT’s legendary Megabucks game.”

The casino says they confirmed the winning as the biggest slot machine jackpot in the City.
