A gun was found and confiscated at Greenbrae Elementary School on Monday.
A Connect Ed call to parents from school principal Josh Reddig confirmed the weapon is in the possession of school administrators.
The principal said there was no threat to the school and no threats were made.
The school did not need to be locked down because classes were out for the day.
The type of weapon confiscated was not revealed in the Connect Ed call.
"I hope you will work with us to reassure your student that we are committed to keeping our school safe for them, our staff, and our families," said Reddig.
