The Washoe County School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved a contract for the district's new superintendent, Joseph Ernst.

The Washoe County School District Board of Trustees is expected to discuss the new superintendent's contract at a public meeting on Tuesday.Â
The WCSD chose Joseph Ernst as its new superintendent on May 14th. Ernst currently serves as the Chief Continuous Improvement Officer for the Washoe County School District, a position he has held since 2021.Â
Board members will discuss his contract at its May 28th, 2 p.m. public meeting inside the WCSD Administration Building at 425 E. Ninth Street in Reno.
Board members are also expected to discuss the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year tentative budget for all district funds and school lunch programs and possible approval of the child nutrition programs cost-reimbursable contract with Aramark Educational Services, LLC.Â
