The Washoe County School District has a new superintendent.
On Tuesday, May 14, WCSD chose Joseph Ernst as the new superintendent for the school district.
All board members voted in favor of Ernst.
Mr. Ernst currently serves as the Chief Continuous Improvement Officer for the Washoe County School District, a position he has held since 2021. Before his current role, he served WCSD since 1996 as a Co-Lead Area Superintendent, Elementary School Principal, Assistant Principal, and Elementary School Teacher. Prior to working in WCSD Mr. Ernst taught elementary school in Michigan.
