A lightning-sparked fire is putting up a lot of smoke in Dog Valley near Verdi.
The Crystal Fire started sometime early Thursday morning, and has already burned 2.5 acrea on the California side near Long Valley Road and Mitchell Canyon.
Fire crews are on scene right now trying to control the fire.
Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue ask that you do not call 911, as they are aware of this fire.
