The Douglas County Sheriff's Office made 11 arrests during the Fourth of July.

Living in a mountainous area, snow is more likely here than most flat areas throughout the country.

Travel will be impacted this week along our mountain passes, especially in Mono and Alpine counties. Snow is also possible along Mt. Rose Highway and Donner, but amounts will be lighter to the north.

Another round of snow showers by the Monday morning with slick roads expected and chain controls in the mountains.

A break in the weather by Wednesday afternoon through Friday. 

Snow turns to rain showers by Monday and Tuesday for our valleys, with snow continuing in the mountains.

Minor flooding is possible around low lying areas, with fast rising and moving rivers and streams.

An investigation is underway after a kitchen fire on Hood Avenue off of Valley Road in Reno.
