Alice Maxwell Elementary School in Sparks has resumed normal operations after an earlier secured campus due to nearby police activity.Â
The Washoe County School District posted a 'secured campus' alert at 12:58 p.m. on Thursday after it was initially placed on a lockdown less than 30 minutes earlier.Â
Sparks Police tell us the precautionary measure was used while police investigated shots heard in the area - there was no threat to the school.
