The National Weather Service in Reno has issued an areal flood advisory for Washoe, Lyon, and Storey Counties, as well as Carson City.
The advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. on Monday.
Torrential rainfall is expected to bring rises and flash flooding in small streams and normally dry arroyos, as well as water over roadways.
Minor flooding is expected due to the rainfall, with between one and one and a half inches of rain already having fallen.
Locations expected to experience flooding include Carson City, the Carson City Airport, New Washoe City, and the Washoe Lake Campground.
