One person was rescued after a paragliding accident in a remote area near Kingsbury Grade. The paraglider crashed into a hillside.
It happened Saturday just after 10 a.m.
According to a Facebook post, East Fork firefighters hiked into the area and began providing medical aid. After the paraglider was stabilized they were carried to a rendezvous point where they were then taken by the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue helicopter (RAVEN). They were then hoisted to a landing zone and taken by Battle Born Air Medical.
The patient has extensive injuries according to East Fork Fire but is in stable condition in the hospital.
