Northern Nevada Public Health is holding its final back-to-school vaccine clinic this Saturday, giving students another opportunity to receive school-required and recommended vaccinations before classes begin in Washoe County.
The clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the main NNPH clinic location at 1001 E. 9th St., Building B, in Reno. Public health nurses will provide vaccinations for students ages 4 to 18.
Appointments are available and encouraged, though walk-ins will be accepted on a limited basis. Parents and guardians attending with a child must bring a photo ID, the child’s insurance card if available, and vaccination records if the child received vaccines outside Nevada or the United States.
Families without insurance can receive vaccines at no cost. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
People heading to the clinic should also plan for a change in access because construction at the Washoe County Administration Complex has closed the Wells Avenue entrance. Those seeking vaccinations are asked to enter the complex through the 9th Street entrance. Signage will be available, and personnel will be on-site to help guide visitors to the clinic.
NNPH’s main clinic is open Monday through Friday and provides vaccinations throughout the week. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (775)328-2402.
