The Washoe County coroner has identified the man found dead near Bonsai Rock on the east shore of Lake Tahoe near Incline Village on Saturday, August 17.

The coroner says 39-year-old Francisco Villa Madrigal of San Jose, California died at the scene.

The cause and manner of death are pending investigation, though no foul play is suspected.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accidental drowning at Lake Tahoe.

The person was found near Bonsai Rock on the east shore of the lake.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, Nevada State Park Rangers and the U.S. Coast Guard all responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, they say they found an unresponsive man in the water.

The victim was transported to Sand Harbor and pronounced dead.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
