ORIGINAL STORY - NOVEMBER 22:

New details have been shared by the Reno Police Department about an investigation of a missing 40-year old Reno woman.

In a joint investigation with the Churchill County Sheriff's Office, it was found that the woman had been missing since November 8, and the circumstances of her disappearance were suspicious.

Detectives identified a suspect in the disappearance, the woman's 71-year old husband Daniel Munoz.

Officials searched their home on Pleasant Oak Trail in Reno and their home on Del Rio Drive in Fallon - when searching the Fallon home, they found the body of the missing woman buried in the backyard.

Detectives say that the missing woman was allegedly killed by Munoz in Reno, then transported to Fallon, where he buried her.

Munoz has been arrested by the Reno Police Department in Fallon for open murder, and he has been booked into the jail at the Churchill County Sheriff's Office. He will be extradited to Washoe County.

It is believed that this is an isolated incident, and that there is no threat to the public.

The identification of the woman will be released by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office after the next of kin has been notified.
