Carson City residents turned in approximately 175.9 pounds of prescription drugs during a drug take-back event on Saturday.
The Carson City Sheriff's Office Uniformed Reserves and Volunteers in Partnership with Sheriff's Office (VIPS) worked with Partnership Douglas/Carson City to collect the medications at four locations/
The sheriff's office says the medications were then turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for destruction.
If you missed Saturday's event, you can bring unused or expired pill-form medications to the Carson City Sheriff's Office for disposal. The office accepts medications Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
No creams, liquids, illicit drugs, syringes or other medical waste will be accepted.
