The Carson City Sheriff's Office has recently conducted a compliance check of registered sex offenders in Carson City.
The check was done with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service (USMS) and Nevada Department of Public Safety.
Over the course of the operation, 163 registered sex offenders in Carson City were checked by officers.
Of those checked:
- Five were arrested for violating registration laws
- Two will be referred to the USMS for further investigation
- Nine were found to not be in compliance
The cases that were found not in compliance will be referred to the Nevada DPS Sex Offender Registry and may be subject to arrest.
