Need to renew your driver's license or take care of an ID transaction this weekend? You'll want to plan ahead. The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles is temporarily shutting down its MyDMV portal and all in-office driver’s license and ID services while the agency modernizes its systems.

The DMV announced the temporary service interruption on its Facebook page, saying the affected services will be unavailable from Nov. 6 through Nov. 8, until 4 p.m.

The shutdown applies specifically to the MyDMV portal and in-office transactions involving driver's licenses and identification cards.

Other DMV transactions will remain available and will not be affected by the temporary outage.

The department is asking customers to plan accordingly during the downtime and is thanking the public for its cooperation. Anyone with questions or concerns can send the DMV a direct message.
