The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on State Route 89 in Placer County. It happened just before 7 a.m. Friday, south of Olympic Valley Road.
The CHP Truckee office says a driver in a Silver Subaru Outback was traveling northbound when they lost control while negotiating a right-hand curve. The Subaru rotated and drifted into the southbound lane, hitting a driver in a GMC Sierra.
The unidentified driver of the Subaru was killed in the crash; the driver of the Sierra was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
It is unknown at this time if impairments was a factor in this crash. Anyone with information is being asked to contact the CHP Truckee office at (530) 563-9200.
