The City of Reno announced its 2026 dates for its Junior Ranger Program, designed to give a fun educational opportunity for all ages.

This year, the program will have two activities per month at six different Reno parks from January through December.

According to organizers, each activity will offer the chance to connect with nature, learn new skill sets, and aim to create good stewardship in the local parks.

Organizers say anybody looking to participate can pick up a free Junior Ranger Guide at any City of Reno recreation facility or find it online.

People will also get the chance to earn their official Junior Ranger Badge by participating. Officials say once a participant completes six activities and collects six stickers, they will be invited to a swearing-in ceremony in January 2027. At the time of the ceremony, you will receive your badge.

According to officials, all activities are free, and children under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian present. No RSVP is needed, but you are encouraged to arrive on time, as activities are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
