High schoolers at Damonte Ranch High School are coming together to fill a classic Volkswagen Beetle for the 'Stuff the Bug' toy drive.
The toy drive is taking place Wednesday, October 30 starting at 10:45 a.m. at Damonte Ranch High School, at 10500 Rio Wrangler Parkway in Reno.
The drive supports the Northern Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation by restocking the organization's toy closet.
The VW Bug is owned by a local family affected by a childhood cancer diagnosis.
The 'Stuff the Bug' toy drive is part of NNCCF's Know the Gold campaign, a six-month long project that aims to help raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer and the gold ribbon, the national symbol for childhood cancer.
The Know the Gold campaign runs until February 13, 2025, and all contributions to the campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the William N. Pennington Foundation, up to $775,000.
All fundraising efforts will benefit local children, and all support stays in northern Nevada.
