Car hits Sparks home

A driver faces a DUI charge after crashing into a Sparks home and setting it on fire, early Friday morning. 

Police responded to the area of East Prater Way and Teel Street around 1 a.m. and found a truck crashed into a home that was engulfed in flames. 

Officers say they evacuated the home and removed the driver and later learned from witnesses that the driver was allegedly speeding, hit several trash cans along the street and then crashed into the home. 

Police say a passenger and the driver, identified as Marvin Navarro were both taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries. 

Afterwards, Navarro was arrested and booked into the Washoe County Jail on - 

* Driving Under the Influence 1st (Misdemeanor)

* Reckless Driving (Misdemeanor)

* Failure to Maintain Lane (Misdemeanor)
