Drivers traveling east on Interstate 80 near Lovelock will need to prepare for lane shifts, reduced speed limits, and possible delays next week as crews repair a bridge damaged in a September crash.
The Nevada Department of Transportation says the work will begin at 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, and continue through the end of the day on Friday, Nov. 13.
During construction, eastbound traffic will be shifted through the Humboldt exit 138 ramps before being routed back onto the interstate. Speed limits will also be reduced through the work zone.
Drivers should expect moderate delays and changing traffic patterns throughout the project.
The work involves repairs to the bridge surface and barrier rail, which were damaged when a freight truck crashed in September. The bridge remains structurally safe, according to the department.
Traffic crossing underneath the interstate will also be affected. A temporary stop sign will require cross traffic to stop for vehicles traveling on the interstate.
The construction schedule is subject to change.
