A man was arrested in Elko County on Thursday on multiple charges, including failure to register as a sex offender.
As the Elko County Sheriff’s Office was conducting yearly compliance checks, it was determined that John Falvey did not meet requirements, according to a post on Facebook by the ECSO.
Falvey had a history of not being cooperative with law enforcement and numerous years of failure to comply with offender registry requirements, according to authorities, so the Elko County SWAT Team was called to serve search warrants on him in Deeth.
When attempting to serve the warrants, Falvey ignored multiple commands given by the Elko County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, and gas canisters were fired into his home.
Falvey then came out and surrendered to deputies.
He was arrested on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender, obstruction, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
