The FKP Kava Club of Reno will host its 3rd Annual Community-Wide Backpack Drive on Saturday.
The drive will take place at Dick Taylor Park, located at 1140 Beech St.
The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with registration beginning at 10:00 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
The event is open to families from Reno and surrounding areas, and children must be accompanied by an adult. No pre-registration is required.
Guests will be offered free backpacks and school supplies, along with live music, food, games, and other activities throughout the day.
Organizers say the event is designed to support local families as they prepare for the upcoming school year.
The backpack drive is supported by several community partners, including the City of Reno, Western Nevada Supply, the Las Vegas Raiders, KĪNĀ'OLE Family of Companies, Nevada Casino Holdings, Everest Backpacks, NV Energy Foundation, and PowerShift by NV Energy.
Representatives from the Raiders are also scheduled to be present at the event.
