Some passengers at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport may soon be boarding their planes outside.
The airport says it is preparing to introduce temporary ground boarding operations while construction continues.
It will be for select gates at the "B" and "C" concourses beginning October 22.
On Wednesday, October 14, volunteers are needed for a ground boarding simulation event, according to a release from the airport.
The event will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. and will test the temporary outdoor ground boarding operation from start to finish.
Volunteers are sought to participate in the simulation and provide their feedback on their experience to help the airport and airlines make process improvements.
Volunteers can apply to participate in the simulation event online here.
Those who are selected will be notified directly with additional paperwork to complete and will be required to bring a REAL ID, passport, or another valid form of identification to participate.
The measure is expected to last for more than two years during construction on two new concourses.
