The former City Manager for the City of Sparks has filed a lawsuit against Sparks' mayor and city council alleging a conspiracy to fire him.

Neil Krutz filed the lawsuit this week.

Events leading up to the suit date back as far as 2019, shortly after Krutz signed his contract with the City of Sparks to become City Manager with a base salary of more than $220,000 a year.

Sparks City Attorney Wes Duncan said that due to a conflict of interest, they would not be representing the city in the suit.

Jordan Smith at Pisanelli Bice will be representing the City.

The City said it would not comment on pending litigation.
