Visitors to the Reno Automobile Museum can adopt a pet at no cost during a special event happening today in Reno.
The museum is partnering with Pet Network Humane Society to host the adoption event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1 Museum Drive.
Adoptions are free for the duration of the event, thanks to support from Bev and Doug Keil.
“I am so thrilled to have the museum be a part of someone’s adoption story,” said Phil MacDougall, president of the Reno Automobile Museum.
Pets are being placed through Pet Network Humane Society, which shared a video preview on Facebook Friday, showing animals headed to the event.
The post encouraged attendees to meet the animals in person before they are listed online. The shelter also noted it would be closed to the public during the event to focus on the off-site adoptions.
“It’s inspiring to see all of these animal welfare organizations join together like this. And to be able to offer free adoptions! This is a rare gift made possible by the Reno Automobile Museum and Bev & Doug Keil,” said Simi Balter, executive director of Pet Network Lake Tahoe.
The Reno Automobile Museum is known for its extensive collection of vintage cars and historical exhibits, drawing visitors from around the world.
Pet Network Lake Tahoe is an animal welfare organization dedicated to finding permanent homes for animals in need through rescue, adoption, and outreach programs.
