A free event will bring more than 60 businesses and vendors together in Reno to connect Washoe County seniors and caregivers with health screenings, vaccinations, benefits information, and other community services.
Senior Fest will be held on Tuesday, September 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Reno Town Mall, located at 4001 S. Virginia St.
The Washoe County Human Services Agency’s Senior Services Division is sponsoring the Senior Spectrum event, which is designed to connect seniors and caregivers with services while promoting socialization, healthy aging and wellness.
Health services available at the event will include screenings, flu shots and vaccinations for COVID, pneumonia, RSV and shingles. Attendees can also find information about Medicare Advantage and VA benefits, health insurance counseling and assisted and independent living.
Other resources will include parks and recreation programs and information about Washoe County Senior Services programs, including homemaker, nutrition, representative payee, group home and case management services. The Nevada Aging and Disability Services Division will also participate.
Parking will be available at the Reno Town Mall and the Atlantis Resort parking lot. RTC transportation is available nearby on Route 1 along South Virginia Street and Route 6 along Peckham Lane.
