Feeding Pets of the Homeless - Wellness Clinic in Carson City

Feeding Pets of the Homeless along with local community organizations and veterinarians will be hosting a free pet wellness clinic in Carson City on Saturday morning.

The clinic treats pets belonging to people in the Carson City area who are experiencing homelessness or have low incomes by providing free vaccinations and wellness exams.

If you or someone you know could benefit from this clinic, it will be held on Saturday, October 19, at FISH, 138 E. Long St., Carson City, beginning at 10 a.m.

Organizers say the clinic's goal is to keep pets in the Carson City area safe from infectious diseases and healthy.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless says that they believe in the healing power of companion pets and of the human-animal bond, which is very important in the lives of many homeless.

They say that the homeless often find solace, protection and companionship through their pets. That they care for their pets on limited resources so they themselves have less.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless says their task nationwide, is to feed and provide basic emergency veterinary care to their pets and thus relieve the anguish and anxiety of those experiencing homelessness who cannot provide for their pets.
