Girls on the Run Sierras will be hosting three week-long camps for girls at three different venues in the area.
"Camp GOTR" will be setting up in Reno, Carson City and Kings Beach, and will include interactive games, physical activities and opportunities to express creativity through art and storytelling.
The camps include five days of hands-on programming, a camp t-shirt, a completion certificate at the end of the camp, and a bracelet. The camps are open to girls ages 8-12 and registration starts at $265 per week. Spots are limited.
"Our summer camp programs help girls build their social-emotional learning through physical activity and interacting with their peers, which is integral at their critical age when confidence and physical activity decline," says Peggy Miller, Engagement and Camp Coordinator for Girls on the Run Sierras.
Camps will be taking place at the following locations:
- Reno: July 21-25 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Reno High School (This location is working with PBS Reno to offer Curiosity Classroom sessions.)
- Carson City: August 4-8 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Eagle Valley Middle School
- Kings Beach: August 18-22 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe
