Joining Forces Campaign

As the holidays approach, law enforcement agencies across Nevada are preparing for a coordinated push aimed at impaired driving.

The Sparks Police Department and troopers with the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Division are joining other agencies statewide for the Joining Forces Impaired Drivers/Riders Campaign.

The campaign runs from December 16 through January 5, 2026.

The effort is designed to increase traffic safety through highly visible patrols across Nevada.

Agencies say the goal is to remove impaired drivers from roadways while also educating the public about the dangers of driving while impaired.

Police are reminding drivers that spending a few dollars on a rideshare or taxi is far less costly than a DUI, which can reach $10,000 or more.

A DUI arrest can lead to jail time, a car being impounded, the loss of a driver’s license, possible job loss, and can result in injuries or loss of life.

Drivers are encouraged to ask for a ride, accept help from a sober driver, and make the choice to never drive impaired.

Sparks police said the department remains dedicated to reducing roadway deaths to zero by increasing awareness about impaired driving, speeding, driving unrestrained, and reckless driving.

Troopers with the Highway Patrol Division said they share the same goal and continue to focus on enforcement and education to improve safety on Nevada roads.
