The House of Representatives passed a bill on Thursday to cut down on regulations surrounding mining.
Nevada Congressman Mark Amodei introduced the Mining Regulatory Clarity Act of 2025.
He says the bill establishes a new category of mill sites to ensure operators have the use of federal lands.
In a statement, Amodei said the Act "gives domestic mining operations the certainty they need to compete aggressively and win."
Senator Catherine Cortez Masto also supported the legislation said she will work to get the bill passed in the Senate.
