Mark your calendars. 2 News Nevada is partnering with Vitalant and Atlantis Casino Resort Spa for the 19th Annual Give 2 Live Blood Drive, coming up in July, as organizers encourage the community to plan ahead and help reach this year’s donation goal of 300 donations.
The blood drive will be held at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa Grand Ballroom on Tuesday, July 7, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, July 8, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Vitalant said several thousand fewer blood donations are typically made each month during the summer compared with the rest of the year, even as patients continue to need blood transfusions.
Organizers said donations can help people facing medical emergencies and ongoing medical conditions, including children injured in accidents, people battling cancer, and those living with blood disorders.
Appointments are encouraged, with donors able to select a time that works best for them on either day of the drive. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Participating donors will receive an “I Bleed Silver & Blue” T-shirt at the event.
Donors who use code JULYGIFT-2026-V when scheduling and opt into the Rewards program will also receive a $20 Rewards gift card.
Donors will also be entered into a raffle for a one-night stay at Atlantis, a couples massage, and a $200 dining credit. A separate “My Blood Type Is [Ice Cream, BBQ, S’Mores]” T-shirt is also available through the online Rewards donor store.
