On Thursday in Carson City at the Casino Fandango, a Nevada-based independent sportsbook, Boomer's, celebrated its grand opening just in time for the start of the NFL season.
This is one of the busiest times of the year for all sportsbooks, and the President and CEO of Boomer's, Joe Asher, told us just how important it is to be strictly serving Nevadans.
"We're only operating in the state of Nevada. Every single person who works in this business works and lives in Nevada. And we think there's an opportunity for that more personalized service," he said. "We're not worried about how we're doing tonight in New York or New Jersey or Illinois or any of the other states."
While many other sportsbooks may have ties with big brands or casinos, Boomer's being independent allows it to expand and serve Nevada's bettors the best it can.
With locations in Elko, Las Vegas, Henderson, and now Carson City, Boomer's is all over the state and looking to expand even further.
"I love Northern Nevada, and I'm really excited to have opened up in Elko. And, you know, we're going to be coming into the Reno market pretty soon as well," said Asher.
He also said Boomer's is dedicated to giving Nevada sports bettors benefits and promotions, especially during football season.Â
"We're offering a $250 sign-up offer, or if you deposit $250, we match it in bonus bets."Â
They will also be shortening bet lines on NFL straight bets throughout the entire football season. They also offer a mobile app and new kiosks inside the book.
People from all over were placing bets and enjoying themselves at the event on Thursday, where casino representatives, Asher, and even Carson City Mayor Lori Bagwell spoke to commemorate this brand-new sportsbook.
Mayor Bragwell even made an honorary bet.Â
With this being their fourth location in Nevada, Boomer's hopes to continue to serve and offer great promotions to Nevada bettors.
If you're interested in sports betting, they are running sign-up promos on their mobile app, or you can even head down to Carson City and check out their giant wall of TVs at the Casino Fandango.
