A jury has convicted three men on all charges in connection with a road rage incident that led to shots being fired during a car chase through Sparks.

According to the Washoe County District Attorney's Office, 28-year-old Jeremiah Tate, 32-year-old Jordon Martinez, and 29-year-old Jarred Martinez were each found guilty of two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of discharging at a car, and two counts of discharging from a car. Tate was also convicted of felony in possession.

Sparks Police responded to the area of Winery Drive and Sparks Boulevard on November 28, 2022, after receiving a complaint of a possible road rage incident.

Investigators said a 43-year-old woman called police after Tate and the Martinez brothers began chasing her car and shooting at her twice while she was still on the phone with dispatch.

Police tracked the woman’s location as the chase continued and ended near a motel close to a truck stop on Greg Street and Sparks Boulevard. The woman ran inside the motel while Tate followed her.

Officers arrived shortly after, and both Tate and Jordon Martinez attempted to run away before being taken into custody. Jarred Martinez left the scene in a car and was arrested the following day.

During the investigation, the men reportedly told police they believed the woman had stolen Tate’s car, though officers later determined it was a different make and model.

At trial, prosecutors presented the gun recovered near the route where Tate and Jordon Martinez had fled. Investigators said Tate’s DNA was found on the gun’s magazine, which was missing two bullets, matching the shots fired during the chase.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 8, 2026, before Judge Lynne Jones.
