A man was arrested in Elko after a police K-9 assisted in a traffic stop that resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine and cash.
According to the Elko Police Department’s Facebook page, officers, in coordination with the Nevada Division of Investigation, conducted a traffic stop where K-9 Balu located approximately 45 grams of methamphetamine and about $3,000 in cash.
The man involved was identified as Ernest Cade Milligan.
Police said the traffic stop was one of several recent incidents involving methamphetamine.
In the past three days, the department’s patrol division has confiscated approximately 78 grams of the drug.
The department acknowledged the K-9’s role in the discovery, writing, “How does that song go? Watcha gonna do? Watcha gonna do? Ohhhhh, that's right, go to jail. That's exactly what happens when superstar K-9 Balu comes for you.”
The post also stated, “Luckily for us, but not so lucky for Mr. Milligan, we were able to get more drugs off the street.”
Milligan was taken into custody. Further details about potential charges were not released.
