The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that two bodies have been recovered in the county in the last couple of months in separate, unrelated incidents.
The first body was found on August 21, according to a post on the LCSO Facebook page.
A body was reported around 25 miles south of the Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters.
A person was out exploring in the area and found an abandoned car that looked to be stuck. They didn’t find anyone in or around the car and continued exploring when they came across a deceased person off the roadway.
It was discovered that the person was reported missing out of the Las Vegas area.
The remains were sent to the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner for a full autopsy, where it was determined that the death was due to extreme heat exposure.
The investigation is now closed.

The cause and manner of death, as well as the sex, race, and age of the remains, are unknown at this time. This incident is still under investigation.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reminds people that in the desert, dangerous conditions can arise quickly, especially with extreme heat and limited shade and water resources.
