Deputies say they arrested a man after he led officers on a chase in Elko County early Sunday morning.
Elko County deputies say they checked on a driver who appeared unconscious inside a wrong-way car parked on SR 227 - and when the man woke up, they say he refused to get out of the car and provide identification.
After deputies gave the man multiple verbal commands and tried to safely remove him from the car, he drove away, leading deputies on a pursuit.
At some point, deputies say they deployed “Stop Sticks” and were able to disable the car by deflating its tires. The car finally stopped on I-80 east near mile marker 300, where deputies say the man then barricaded himself inside the vehicle.
Following a brief negotiation, deputies say he surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without further incident.
