A wrongly disposed of battery-powered scooter is believed to have caused a sanitation truck to catch fire on Monday.

It happened around noon in Spring Creek, near Firehouse Field.

Crews say the fire caused minimal damage to the truck.

They're reminding people that lithium-ion batteries found in scooters, e-bikes, and other electronic devices should not be thrown away in regular household trash or recycling bins.

They say to reach out to your local sanitation provider for disposal options.
