Valentine's Day will be here before we know it - and with it, the countdown is on to register for the Love Notes Short Film Competition.
The event invites filmmakers to submit 5-to-9-minute romantic films; they can be heartwarming, quirky, spooky - it's all up to the filmmaker.
The competition begins on Wednesday, January 15. From that point, the filmmakers will have two weeks to create their love stories, and they must incorporate three prompts: a prop, a specific line of dialogue, and a sound effect.
All entries for the contest must be submitted by January 29.
The flurry of filmmaking activity culminates in a screening of the films at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City on Saturday, February 8.
Winners will be chosen in categories like Best Film, Best Director, and Best Ensemble - and one film will win the coveted Judge's Choice Best Film award.
