A man has been arrested by Reno Police after allegedly strangling a woman until she passed out and threatening to kill her and her family.

26-year-old Francisco Mayorga is facing charges including attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, constituting domestic violence.

The incident happened on Tuesday evening around 5:45 p.m. on Longley Lane in southeast Reno, according to a spokesperson for the RPD.

Mayorga allegedly strangled a 28-year-old woman until she was unconscious and threatened to kill her and her family.

When officers arrived on scene, Mayorga was not on scene.

He was located on Wednesday morning, around 10:30 a.m., on Melrose Drive in Reno and taken into custody without incident.
