A man was arrested on a robbery warrant in Sparks on Wednesday night and attempted to provoke police to shoot and kill him when they took him into custody.
It happened on Oddie Boulevard in Sparks just before 7:30 p.m.
Christopher Haley was wanted for a robbery warrant stemming from the robbery of a Game Stop last year.
When authorities went to arrest him, he allegedly reached into his waistband and pretended to draw a gun in hopes that police would shoot and kill him, Sparks Police said in a release.
Detectives with the Regional Crime Suppression Unit tackled him to the ground, averting a possible shooting.
Haley was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
