Stalking conviction

A woman’s call to 9-1-1 set off a trail of messages and visits that ended with a stalking conviction in Sparks.

The Sparks City Attorney’s Office said its prosecutor secured a conviction against Danny Robello for stalking constituting domestic violence, first offense.

On December 4, the woman called 9-1-1 and reported that her ex-boyfriend was outside her home. When Sparks police arrived, the man was no longer there.

The woman told officers she and Robello had dated for about two years and separated in November 2025. In the days leading up to the call, she said he contacted her through several social media apps and showed up at her home multiple times.

Police reviewed messages sent during that period and found more than 500 messages on Snapchat and about 150 messages on Facebook. The messages included threats that he would show up at her home and damage property. The woman responded only to say she did not want any more contact.

Robello was later arrested on the stalking charge along with additional charges from Sparks Justice Court and was convicted after prosecution by the Sparks City Attorney’s Office.

Sparks City Attorney Wes Duncan said, “Our Office will continue to stand up for victims of threats and abusive behavior.”

Robello was sentenced to 180 days in the Washoe County Jail, suspended for two years. Conditions include obeying all laws, having no contact with the woman, and complying with Sparks Municipal Court’s compliance program.
