A Walker Lake man faces attempted murder charges after he allegedly fired a gun at two people inside their RV in Hawthorne early Wednesday morning.

Deputies say the incident happened at Scotty's RV Park near 6th and K Streets around 1 a.m.

Authorities say the two people were awakened when the suspect, Cameron Aguilar entered their RV who then allegedly fired a gun at them.

Deputies say they escaped and hid inside an on-site restroom where they called for help.

Aguilar was later found on I Street.

Deputies say despite using a drone and using a Carson City Sheriff's Office K9 unit, they still haven't found the gun used in connection with the incident.

The Mineral County Sheriff's Office is asking residents near the 500-600 blocks of I through K Streets to search their properties for any suspicious items, specifically a handgun.

They say a $1,500 reward is offered for information leading to the weapon’s recovery.

Aguilar was booked into the Mineral County Detention Facility on charges including two counts of attempted murder and numerous other felonies.
